Information We Collect
Depending on how you use Saarthi, we may collect:
- Name, phone number, optional email address, and profile photo.
- Panchayat, village, district, address details, and bus-stop preferences that you provide.
- Content you create or share, including profile details, listings, events, products, volunteer applications, chat messages, photos, and attachments.
- Push-notification token, device type, and an app-generated device identifier used to send notifications and operate the app.
How We Use Information
We use this information to:
- Create and manage your account.
- Show relevant local community content, services, products, events, and bus information.
- Enable communication between users.
- Publish content that you choose to post.
- Send app notifications, if you allow notifications.
- Maintain, secure, and improve Saarthi.
We do not use your information for personalised advertising and do not sell personal information.
When Information Is Shared
Information that you choose to publish—such as listings, profiles, events, products, or messages—may be visible to other relevant Saarthi users.
Your phone number is shown to other users only when you choose to make it visible or otherwise choose to share it.
We use Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver notifications and service providers that help host and operate Saarthi. These providers process information only as needed to provide their services.
Photos, Files, and Camera
Saarthi requests access to photos, files, or the camera only when you choose to upload or capture content, such as a profile photo, listing image, event image, or chat attachment.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, Saarthi uses Firebase Cloud Messaging to send notifications. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.
Data Retention and Deletion
We keep your information while your account is active and as needed to operate Saarthi.
When you request account deletion, we delete your account and associated personal data within 30 days, unless limited retention is required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or compliance reasons.

Data Security
We use reasonable measures designed to protect your information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, or disclosure.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when Saarthi changes. We will update the effective date when we do.
